The Beast Falls To The Frenchman

In 10 fights in his MMA Career, Frenchman Ciryl Gane wins the interim heavyweight title with a devastating stoppage over Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis in the UFC 265 main event. He was perfect from start to finish as he overwhelmed Derrick Lewis with speed and power before finally unleashing vicious combinations of shots in the third round that helped him secure a third-round TKO in the UFC 265 main event.

“I’m happy but I’m feeling a bit bad for my man in front of his fans,” Gane said while addressing Lewis in his hometown of Houston. “I’m happy, I’m proud. Everybody knows what is my game plan. I like to move. No secret, it was the game plan, of course.

“This is for [Fernand Lopez]. This is for the whole team. This is not just for me. This is for my coach. This is for the fans, for the country.” With Gane being the interim champion, he is expected to face the current heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou to determine who is the undiputed king in the heavyweight division. “Let’s go,” Gane said about facing Francis Ngannou. “Just let’s go.”

The Event also featured dominating performances by Jose Aldo, who looks better than ever in a showcase of his striking skills against Pedro Munhoz and an amazing reversal finish made by Vicente Luque, winning via Darce Choke against Michael Chiesa who was dominating him before being submitted. Tecia Torres dominates Angela Hill in a striking showcase combining her kicks & her punches.

In closing, UFC 265 offers not a star-studded cast of athletes but features a list of hungry fighters who are ready to seize their opportunity to become the best. Gane, Luque, Aldo, Torres proven that they are ready to take another chance at UFC Gold wrap around their waist.
