Fight To Expect This Week: First Week Of April

Hey Fighters, we will give you a roundup of all the bouts available this week that might interest you to enjoy your weekend full of high-action bouts!

Boxingmania!
Wrestlemania just wrapped it up in Dallas, Texas, last weekend. Now it's time for the boxing world to shine again as two high-profile fights will happen on the same day on April 9th, 2022, as GGG will fight against Ryota Murata in a middleweight unification bout, billed as "The Big Drama In Japan" this weekend sees the return of the exciting fighter from Kazakhstan facing off against the Olympic gold medalist and pressure fighter. GGG looks to win this bout and request his anticipated trilogy fight against Canelo Alvarez to settle the score. As for Murata, the victory against Golovkin will cement his legacy as one of the best Middleweight and gets him one step closer to facing Alvarez also.

On the same day, undefeated youth sensation Ryan Garcia returns after a long hiatus in the ring to face off against former IBF lightweight champion Emmanuel Tagoe inside the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Garcia last fought against Luke Campbell on January 2nd, 2021, after he said that he wanted to "take care of his health and well-being." After a controversial exit out of team Canelo, will we see a different Ryan Garcia, or will holes and weaknesses show up in his game in this bout? We will see on Saturday.

The Great Vs. The Zombie
When a UFC event has a number on it, that means anticipated fights; the main event features the featherweight championship match as champion Alexander "The Great" Volkanovski faces off against The Korean Zombie Chang Sung Jung. The fight was initially scheduled for a rematch between Volk and Max Holloway; Holloway suffered an injury that forced him to withdraw from the bout. UFC found a replacement, and Jung steps up to face the Australian champion. Volkanovski's last fight was a battle he had to overcome against Brian Ortega, and Jung's previous fight was a unanimous decision win against Dan Ige.

The co-main event features the bad blood title unification featherweight rematch fueled by a controversial no-contest win from Aljamain Sterling from an illegal knee from Petr Yan. both fighters despise each other, always finding ways to insult each other in interviews, social media, and every content imaginable.

And finally. Khamzat Chimaev, the rising star in the UFC, is back to finally face a challenge that so many people have been waiting for, as he finally faces off against top welterweight contender Gilbert. "Dourinho" Burns.

Chimaev has been criticized by many as a fighter that has not proved that he can face off against a top contender. This bout will prove if Chimaev can hang with the top MMA welterweight in the world while his opponent Gilbert Burns looks to continue to climb his excursion to earn the right to challenge the welterweight strap once again after his TKO loss against Kamaru Usman.
